I am finding out there are other benefits to no cheese, no dairy diets. For instance, I am currently nursing and sometimes dairy can cause tummy aches and green diapers for baby. Well, she is back to yellow diapers and sleeping well. (This could just be coincidence though.) When I told my mother about this she thought I was full of it and said "You need to drink a glass of milk right now!" I explained that milk is a gateway drug to cheese and for the next month I'm going to JUST SAY NO. I also sent her and email later and received a hiliarious response:

Do I need to drink milk to produce milk?
Human beings are the only animals that consume the milk of other animals. In no other species do the young consume milk after infancy. No other mammalian mothers drink milk, yet they all produce milk adapted to the needs of their young. They obtain all the necessary ingredients to produce milk from their diet. It’s useful to remember that there are whole cultures where the people traditionally do not drink milk or eat dairy products. In some languages, the traditional word for milk means only human milk, and the idea of milk from another mammalian species is totally new to the culture.
Milk and cheese are an important part of the diet of many people. Others thrive without milk or cheese. In any case, there is no need to introduce these foods into the diet or to increase their consumption, especially if the mother does not like or does not tolerate them.
Here is G-ma's response:
Of course you don't HAVE to drink cow milk to produce human milk! The mothers of Eskimo babies survive solely on whale blubber...
I am having a dinner party tonight honoring you and your new baby. The menu will be whale blubber. How does that sound? Cheeeeeeese!
You were raised on cow milk. So was I; a cultural thing for several generations since whale blubber was a little hard to come by for the early settlers. It's good for you to drink non-fat milk, better than cheese; so ..... GOT MILK? If not .... GET MILK!

My next response:
lol-- that is great. you may have spelled teets wrong..i dunno is it teats or teets? you say teet-mato, i say teat-moto! hay, let's call the whole thing off!!
G-Ma's final response:
We'll go "Teat for Tat" on that one! Now, no more personal emails during work, my boss is really MEAN!
Since she babysits for me, I am her boss. Haha!
